Recording Mic Audio On Traktor Pro 2

This is pretty much the cheapest condenser mic available that can still deliver something close enough to a sem-pro studio sound for the home recording artist. It’s the best recording microphone you can get at this price point – if you really can’t afford something better. Hey all,
I have Traktor S2 and I'm using the internal recording. I know that if I don't want loss in quality I should never reach the reds, and usually set up the recording gain to -3 or lower.
However, I've done a little experiment. I recorded a track via Traktor with the recording gain set to 0, and the track overall gain also set to 0 (compensating for the loss db by auto gain), to simulate a recording of the track just as it is.
When I open the recorded track in Ableton, I see it never reaches the red (just like the original track when I open it in Ableton as well).
But when in Traktor, it always shows red when I do that. So either:
1) Traktor recording at 0 gain is making me lose quality because. red.
2) I'm forced to turn the recording gain to -3 in order to not lose quality, but i'm losing sound volume for nothing.
If anyone could make this any clearer, I'd really appreciate this.
Thanks!

The latest update to the software adds inbound-connection management, too. Little Snitch has graduated from being a sort of outbound-only firewall with notifications to being a full-fledged firewall product with a friendly interface that informs you about any network-related activities.OS X’s built-in firewall, when enabled, functions based on services and applications, allowing only inbound connections aimed at particular pieces of software—for example, a connection to iPhoto’s shared-library service. Digital DJ Tips reader Stefan has a problem that can occur with lots of DJ controllers. He writes: “I have the Numark Mixtrack Pro and I do a weekly live mix on Mixify and I want to be able to speak via a microphone which is plugged into my Mixtrack Pro. I am having problems with the microphone input on my Mixtrack Pro, the microphone is not getting picked up by Traktor. What can I do?”

Digital DJ Tips says:

The microphone on the Mixtrack Pro is not fed to your computer or your DJ software at all. It’s simply routed straight to the outputs at the back of the unit, and so while the mic sound does comes out of your speakers, it won’t be present on your broadcast feed, as you’ve found out.

The easiest way to get around this would be to plug the output of your Mixtrack Pro into another laptop as an input, and broadcast from that. It is sometimes possible to feed the output of your DJ controller back into the same laptop in this way to save you using two, but it’s not simple to do.

Have you faced the issue of trying to get your DJ controller to feed external inputs into your software, for broadcasting or other reasons? How have you got round it, and have you had to use extra software or cables to do so? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
