Nov 14, 2017  I've just downloaded the demo version for Serum, but when I open it seems like the 'Skins' folder is missing. I've already read previous topics about this same issue, but I wasn't able to solve the problem. The dream synthesizer did not seem to exist: a wavetable synthesizer with a truly high-quality sound, visual and creative workflow-oriented interface to make creating and altering sounds fun instead of tedious, and the ability to “go deep” when desired - to create / import / edit / morph wavetables, and manipulate these on playback in real-time. The best free Serum skins are here, folks! I One clean list with download links. I even found the infamous Rick and Morty skin that at first had seemed to have disappeared from the Internet. I couldn't find the link to the Zelda Serum skin though, or the teased Feed Me Serum skin, sadly.

Although we love Lance Thackeray’s GUI design for Serum, over-time, using the same colors or interfaces can lead to becoming bored or uninspired.
Luckily, Xfer Records came out with a patch that allows you to edit the Serum skin files.
This resulted in producers and designers going crazy over this new feature.
In fact, a whole market of Serum skins was launched. There’s now color changes, artist themed skins, holiday themed skins, tv-show theme skins, and many more.
These skins now help producers reignite their creativity by giving them a fresh new interface to produce in.
But because there’s so many new skins, it can be hard to sort through them all and find the one that speaks to you.
So, we’ve put together an ultimate list of all the best Serum skins. This way, you can find all of the best skins all in one place.
But before we begin, let’s go over how to install custom skins!

How To Install:

To install these Xfer Serum skins, you’ll need to have the latest update Xfer Records has provided for Serum.
To be able to access the skins folder, you’ll want to find this location on your computer. This will hold all of your skins, so when you open up Serum, they will be available.

Windows:

Documents/Xfer Serum/Presets/Skins

macOS:

Library/Audio/Presets/Xfer Records/Serum Presets/Skins
Once you’re here, you’ll see one single folder titled, ‘Default’. DO NOT TOUCH THIS FOLDER.
The ‘Default’ folder is the original folder that will display the original GUI.
Instead, when you’re installing these skins, each skin will have its own folder that has similar assets within them.

For example:

Inside of each skin folder, there will be four assets:
1x: All digital assets at normal scaling when at 100%
2x: All digital assets at doubled scaling for anything above 100%
Fonts: Included fonts with the skin
colormap.png: The color map for LFO’s, envelopes, and other reactive modulations
Now that you understand how it all works, let’s see the top Xfer Serum skins!

Xfer Records Serum v1.23b7 Full for Windows
Size 158 Mb

This is the Serum v1.23b7 Full Version, tested and 100% working on windows only.

Xfer Records has released new beta updates of the Serum wavetable synthesizer instrument.

The version 2.3 beta includes the Promethium Skin by Lance Thackeray as a second factory skin (pictured above), a resizable interface, new distorted comb filters and scream filter, preliminary MPE support, preset hybridize to randomly combine part of several presets, and lots more.

Serum v1.23b7:

• Pressing Return was needed for entering SN# successfully in some DAWs

Xfer Serum Skins Free Download

• WT Editor formula editor, NaN values derived from formula calculations could get passed to WT.

1.23b5:

• multiple MIDI sysex events in a single buffer could cause a crash
• Clicks when mono was enabled (with Legato off) and notes overlapped.

1.23b2 to b3 (minor update):

– fix: SN# is now accepted without pressing RETURN first

– fix: Maschine host stores plugin window sizes

– fix: oversmpling default setting in config file was not loading.

‘1.23b2 changes:

• added: default oversampling level now (optionally) can be set in Serum.cfg fle (otherwise 2x as usual)
• added: WT Editor->Add/Remove menu->Reduce submenu: thins the number of frames, in order to easily keep only every th frame.
• added: ability to get a separate vertical grid size for the LFO with text entry: double-click on grid size (assuming pref enabled) and type e.g. 8,12 for 8 horizontal and 12 vertical grid lines.
• added: secondary sort method for preset browser, Serum will remember the previous column you clicked for ordering and use that as a secondary ordering: e.g. click Location column, presets are sorted by location. Then click Rating column and the presets will be sorted by Rating, but the sorting within a given rating will be ordered by Location.
• added: alt-drag LFO tile to WT now an offcial feature / works on Windows too
• added: preset name is now rescanned on Serum instances re-opening (for checkmark / menu advancing)
• added: resizable interface (lower-right corner), zoom menu in top-left (Serum logo) and preference/setting in Zoom Menu for default window size.
• added: if oversampling is set in confg to non-2x the oversampling lock will also enable.
• added: “Export All as Single-Cycle Waves” to the export menu in WT editor: exports WT as a set of individual single-cycle wave fles.
• added: skin support. zoom menu (Serum logo in top-left) will select skin. A few points about skins:
• added: custom .ttf font support for skins – see colormap thread here in Serum user forum for example (in download) You can e.g. copy the folder “Default” in Skins subfolder, and make changes to any images. there is no need to include images that you do not alter – Serum will look to Default skin folder as a fallback.
• new Scream Filter, Dist.Comb 1 and 2 flter types
• Ringmod flter needs less “warm up time” to respond to audio signal.
• Ringmod and S H flters custom flter display instead of frequency response plot (which was of little value for these flter types).
• Preliminary MPE support. You will see the MPE settings in the main menu, and can be enabled/disabled by default in the preferences.
• Preset Hybridize: takes visible presets in browser (e.g. flter to a type) and randomly combines part of seeral presets.
• Promethium Skin by Lance Thackeray as a second factory skin
• Preference to the confg fle for scaling the automation smoothing rate. This will affect onscreen controls, MIDI CC’s, and song/host project automation. It is not advised to change this parameter (as existing project automation might sound different), it’s a tweak offered for “power users” or fringe situations where less automation smoothing is desired (e.g. for rapid response over automation parameters). you can scale it (e.g. [50] would be 50% smoothing, or twice as fast. Accepted values are 1 to 800 (0 = default which is 100%). Rename or delete your confg fle to have this entry created in the confg fle.Added: signifcant CPU reduction when modulating WT Pos.
• Custom (user text entry) category in browser
• WT Editor FFT bins right-click additional feature: “Snap vertical draw to quarters” quantizes FFT Bin mouseclicks to 0, 25, 50, 75, 100%
• WT Editor FFT bins right-click additional feature: “Scale Freq Values by Bin Index”. This makes higher bins scale relative to their bin location, for example normally a saw wave would show the bins scaling lower as you go to higher bins (which is the true amplitude values needed for a saw). When this feature is enabled, drawing a fat line across the FFT Bins at 50% will produce a saw.
• unison phase memory trigger (MemTrig): Triggers the unison voices with the same relative phases each note on. This makes an effect similar to a sample, where the unison will start identical each new note (without the “laser zap” effect of having all phases simply zeroed). To activate, turn RA D and PHASE knobs to 100% on an oscillator to enable MemTrig. Lower the Rand knob temporarily (while playing a note or notes) to get a new randomized set of phases. These phases will save in the preset/song.
• WT Editor -> Process Menu -> Set Spectra same for all Frames (from current): applies FFT bins (spectrum) from current frame to all frames. This feature may not be terribly useful beyond education, it was mostly added because it is an easy permutation of the next one:
• WT Editor -> Process Menu -> Set Phases same for all Frames (from current): applies the FFT phase information from current frame to all frames. This is useful to make all tables match in phases beyond just the fundamentals for e.g. solid/consistent sound during morphing.
• WT Editor -> Process -> “Subtract Spectra from other Osc”: Removes the (relative amount) of harmonic content contained in the corresponding other oscillator. This applies to all frames (as the process menu always does).
• Retina/HiDPI support. (Skins note: 1x folder images are now only used for non-retina displays and when Serum is 100% size or smaller)
• noise osc direct out switch
• default preset: if you save a preset as default.fxp (or Default.fxp) located in /User subfolder of /Presets, Serum will load this preset on new instantiations of Serum.
• Fast matrix assignment for vibrato in Matrix drop-down menu (next unused LFO to Global tuning)

Serum. Advanced Wavetable Synthesizer

WHY SERUM?

The dream synthesizer did not seem to exist: a wavetable synthesizer with a truly high-quality sound, visual and creative workflow-oriented interface to make creating and altering sounds fun instead of tedious, and the ability to “go deep” when desired – to create / import / edit / morph wavetables, and manipulate these on playback in real-time.

IMPORT YOUR OWN AUDIO / CREATE CUSTOM WAVETABLES WITH EASE

Xfer Serum Free Serial Key

Serum has a Wavetable editor built right in- you can create your own wavetables in a variety of ways. Import audio directly from audio files – Serum has a variety of methods and options for analyzing audio for breaking it apart into individual waveforms. You can import single-cycle wavetables of course, as well as many at once (with in-built sorting options, or manual re-ordering). Morph between various wavetables using standard linear interpolation (crossfading) or via harmonic/spectral morphing. Draw directly on the waveform, with optional grid-size snapping and a variety of shape tools. Generate or modify waveforms using FFT (additive). Create or process waveforms using formula functions. Processing menu options allow you to do the other tasks you would want, such as apply fades, crossfades, normalize, export, and much more.

ULTRA-CLEAN OSCILLATORS

Playback of wavetables requires digital resampling to play different frequencies. Without considerable care and a whole lot of number crunching, this process will create audible artifacts. Artifacts mean that you are (perhaps unknowingly) crowding your mix with unwanted tones / frequencies. Many popular wavetable synthesizers are astonishingly bad at suppressing artifacts – even on a high-quality setting some create artifacts as high as -36 dB to -60 dB (level difference between fundamental on artifacts) which is well audible, and furthermore often dampening the highest wanted audible frequencies in the process, to try and suppress this unwanted sound. In Serum, the native-mode (default) playback of oscillators operates with an ultra high-precision resampling, yielding an astonishingly inaudible signal-to-noise (for instance, -150 dB on a sawtooth played at 1 Khz at 44100)! This requires a lot of calculations, so Serum’s oscillator playback has been aggressively optimized using SSE2 instructions to allow for this high-quality playback without taxing your CPU any more than the typical (decent quality) soft synth already does. Load up Serum and we think you’ll be able to notice both what you hear (solid high frequencies, extending flat all the way up to the limits of hearing) as well as what you don’t hear (no unwanted mud or aliasing gibberish- just good, clean sound).

MODULATION – WORK THE WAY YOU WANT TO

The modulation system allows for drag and drop connections between mod sources and destinations. Want an LFO controlling a filter cutoff? Simply drag the LFO title to the cutoff knob. This LFO->Filter connection will now appear in the Mod Matrix as well. In other words, you have two views/approaches for creating and modifying your modulations: sometimes a list is nice, other times you just want the job done fast and easy.

REALTIME WAVETABLE MANIPULATION

In addition to moving through the set of wavetables (up to 256 make up a single oscillator), you can manipulate the waveform itself in a separate realtime process referred to as Warp. This allows for FM/AM/RM/Oscillator Sync and many other ways to modify the waveform, including “Remap” modes – a graph editor for drawing your own custom table manipulations.

FILTER TYPES

Serum includes all of the filter types found in LFOTool in addition to some brand-new ones. Flangers, Phasers, and Comb filters all of which can key-track to the musical note you play. Dual filter types let you control or morph between filter types. Get creative with atypical processes for filters such as downsampling, or the unique filter types found nowhere before, such as the dirty-sounding French LPF.

VST crack instruments receive notes as digital information via MIDI and effectively output the digital audio. Most VST plugins are either instruments although other categories exist so that you can get maximum output with useful and practical results. With advanced plugins, you can receive digital audio and process through to their outputs. Free vst plugins download windows 10. These plugins include software simulation of well-known hardware synthesizers and samplers. If you are passionate about making a new record in the music industry and you do have money to pay to the studio, then this will be the best solution for you to get it and use.

BUILT-IN SUITE OF EFFECTS

An effects rack with 10 effects modules lets you get your sound all the way to the finish line inside Serum. Effects can be re-ordered to any configuration you want. Virtually all effect parameters are also available as modulation destinations. This is especially useful on monophonic synth sounds. For example, apply an LFO to control reverb size or dry/wet, or velocity to control distortion amount. Many of these effects and modes were built just for Serum, so there are many unique effects to choose from, such as Hyper, which simulates (additional) unison amounts, or a dual-waveshaper which allows for a distortion you can morph between two separate wave shapes.

ADVANCED UNISON

Serum will let you stack a single oscillator to use up to 16 voices. Each of the wavetable oscillators have a number of unison advanced parameters. Stack settings allow for note (e.g. octave) layering to get a fuller sound for a single note-press. Set the unison voices to all have their unique waveform at once with the Unison WT Pos setting, or have them all skewed in a different way with the unison Warp control. A variety of unison tuning modes per-oscillator let you get the stack sound blooming or swarming like you want.

SPECS

Serum comes with over 450 presets, 144 wavetables.
Available as VST, AAX 64bit.
